39 Incredible Chalk Art Pieces at Denver Chalk Art Festival
Denver, Colorado’s weather is perfect to highlight stunning artwork–art showcased not on canvases, but on the street at the The Denver Chalk Art Festival 2011. Found on Larimer Square in downtown Denver, The Denver Chalk Art Festival is a public event that draws thousands of people each year. The 2011 Chalk Art Festival featured some of Colorado’s finest chalk artists (shown above), great food and unique outdoor entertainment.
Chalk Art has become famous because of Julien Beever, the chalk guy who introduced 3D sidewalk art. Although Beever was not in Denver today, it was still a fabulous time perusing the streets and discovering local talent. The festival even had an area where kids could create their own masterpieces. Active participation by the audience was encouraged, allowing people to vote for their favorite pieces. The outdoor festival was family friendly, and was a great adventure for those interested in local art or entertainment.
